Aloha! Welcome to the recap post of Family Forward. This week a portion of the CMN Hospitals awareness team landed in Orlando, Fla. aka the south pacific to kick off the Family Forward conference with a superhero themed party! We stayed at the beautiful Loews Royal Pacific Resort – LOVE that hotel.
We had a lot of work to do to get ready for our kick off party – we all walked more than 10K steps by noon and over 26K by the end of the night!
Our space ended up (IMO) looking SO good. We welcomed 75 families to learn about the charitable need of children’s hospitals and how you can be forces for good in your community.
I love my team! They are so smart, hardworking and creative. I am beyond grateful to be apart of the CMN Hospitals organization and mission.
Before they opened the doors jitters:
We gave out cute capes and masks – so adorably donned by my dad: We gave each table challenges the families had to complete together. One was to write why they were a Superhero Family: This is me pretending to handle the AV station:
After our event, the team and I headed over for dinner at Universal Studios Soundstage 33 and then over to an exclusive party at Hogsmeade in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! BUTTERBEER MUSTACHES FOR EVERYONE:
Did I mention this sweet face and his family attended the event with us? The Ferrell family is definitely my WHY…being able to support kids like Nathan makes my job not feel like a job, but an opportunity to help amazing kids and their families:
The next day we attended the Doh Vinci and CampSci workshops:
Extracting DNA from a strawberry! Made for a cute necklace:This is a no filter real Florida sunset, y’all. After the torrential downpour, we visited Wet & Wild where I was forced to go on scary tube rides:
On Saturday we were the Kardashians for the day and were treated to a VIP tour, meaning we were basically escorted to the front of the line for every single ride. It was INCREDIBLE. My favorite ride has to be The Amazing Spider-Man. I got to go on it with my dad when our tour groups met up in the same place. Such a great and special memory for me to have! Back to school in Hogsmeade: Butterbeer and behind the scenes access of Escape from Gringotts: It was an amazing day and so fun! That night, we attended Blue Man Group – this is my third year seeing it and it’s almost more fun now to be an outsider who knows what’s going to happen and to witness other people experience it:Â
Of course Melinda was picked to go on stage!! She did a great job:
Sunday I slept in and got breakfast with my friends: I love these parks. They are so creative and cute: Back in NYC:
Spent the last day, Labor Day, with my sis and nieces:VIVA LA BEST WORK TRIP/VACATION EVER.
